Refrigerant Leak Repair in Westchester, Putnam & Yonkers
Refrigerant leak detection and repair for walk-in coolers and freezers, prep tables, reach-ins, bar and beverage coolers, condensing units and A/C systems: traced with electronic detectors, bubble solution and nitrogen pressure, then repaired, evacuated and recharged by weight.

Refrigeration & A/C
Finding the leak, not just topping off.
Many of the leak calls in the videos below start the same way: a walk-in, prep table, bar cooler or condensing unit that stops cooling or keeps losing refrigerant. Luis traced those leaks to corroded evaporator return bends, expansion-valve flares, service-valve cores and caps, leaking pressure controls, compressor connections and copper lines rubbed through by vibration. For businesses and homes in Port Chester, Westchester, Putnam and Yonkers, Cyclone HVACRWD Company works to locate the leak point rather than only adding refrigerant, repairs it by brazing, re-flaring or replacing the leaking part, and then, depending on the repair, pressure-tests with nitrogen, evacuates and recharges by weight. When a coil is too corroded to repair or a second leak turns up, the leaking part is replaced or the pending step is explained, as several of the videos show.

When to request service
Signs of a refrigerant leak worth checking early
A walk-in, prep table, reach-in or bar cooler that cools poorly or has stopped cooling
Oily spots or bluish corrosion on copper bends, flare connections, valve connections or condensing-unit piping
Bubbles in the sight glass, a hissing valve, or a compressor short-cycling on the pressure control
Refrigerant that keeps running low after a charge, or a starting device or compressor that failed after repeated low-pressure cycling
Leak repair scope
What we check and repair
- Electronic leak detection and bubble solution at evaporator coils, return bends, expansion valves, service ports and condensing units
- Nitrogen pressure tests with a digital manifold, including timed pressure-hold checks and immersion testing of a removed evaporator coil
- Internal-leak tracing on water-cooled condensing units by checking the cooling-water discharge
- Brazed repairs on return bends, copper lines and compressor connections, with heat protection on nearby valves
- Remade flares, replaced valve cores, sealed service caps, flameless press couplings and brazed service access valves
- Replacement of leaking pressure controls, expansion valves or evaporator coils when a repair is not practical, a new filter drier where the repair calls for it, and vibration protection where lines rubbed through
- Refrigerant recovery, evacuation and recharge by weight (R-404A, R-134a, R-407C) by an EPA Universal certified technician, with sight-glass, pressure, superheat and current checks
